This is an awesome resin model kit of one of the most iconic sci-fi film props of all time, the HAL 9000 Interface from the 60s Stanley Kubrick classic, 2001, A Space Odyssey. HAL is 1:1 scale and cast in solid heavy white resin. Designed to be in perfect scale to the original using screen caps from the film as well as other supplemental movie materials. HAL measures 11 3/4 " long by 4 " thick, and is approximately 1 " thick with an inset in the back to accommodate the lighting electronics and battery pack. Also included with the kit are all of the lighting materials needed to make HAL light up red as he did in the film. A battery pack that requires 4 x AAA batteries (Not Included) and includes an integrated on/off switch, a 150 ohm resistor and a 5 mm red LED are all included in addition to wiring instructions (which is very simple). HAL has the clear plastic dome to cover his ‘eye’ with resin outer ring, and the characteristic name plate graphics. See photo of the completed and lighted prop. Everything you need aside from the superglue and paint is included to create an awesome light-up HAL 9000 prop display piece. There is also room in the rear chamber to accommodate a sound chip for those who wish to make him talk as well. Finishing instructions for the resin kit are included as well as the special wiring instructions. Everyting is in a photo box featuring the finished HAL.
