The Shelby registry indicates only two 1966 `Super Snake` Cobras were built. One car was destroyed in an accident, leaving a sole surviving car. January 13 2007, it sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction for 5.5 million dollars, making it the most expensive American car ever sold. The `Super Snake` has a twin supercharged 427 cid 800hp engine, with a 3 speed automatic. Caroll Shelby built it just to see how fast it was, and it turned out to be a monster with incredible performance and speeds.
